Bonny Mild Horseman have introduced a brand new double album, Preserve Me on Your Thoughts/See You Free, and have shared a brand new track from it, “I Know You Know,” by way of their first ever music video. Preserve Me on Your Thoughts/See You Free comprises 20 tracks and is due out June 7 by way of Jagjaguwar. Take a look at “I Know You Know” under, adopted by the album’s tracklist and canopy art work.

Bonny Mild Horseman is Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson, and Josh Kaufman. Kaufman produced the album, which was partially recorded at Levis (pronounced: “leh-viss”) Nook Home, which is a century-old pub in Ballydehob, County Cork in Eire. JT Bates (drums), Cameron Ralston (bass), and recording engineer Bella Blasko joined them in these periods. The album was completed Dreamland Recording Studios in Upstate New York, which is the place they accomplished their first two albums. These periods included Mike Lewis on bass and tenor saxophone and Annie Nero on upright bass and harmonies.

The album contains “After I Was Youthful,” a brand new track the band shared in February that was considered one of our Songs of the Week.

Johnson had this to say in regards to the “I Know You Know” video in a press launch: “When excited about administrators for Bonny Mild Horseman’s first (!!!) ever music video, Kimberly Stuckwisch leapt to thoughts instantly. I’d been a longtime fan of her always-evocative work–and for our band I felt like she’d ‘get it.’ The remedy she got here again with was deeply aligned with the feelings of the track: life’s multiverse, the dualities of pleasure and ache, the alternatives we make that chart our course in the direction of a technique or one other. We shot this on a salt flat within the Mojave desert, making an attempt to outrun the sundown and packs of salty coyotes, beneath the watch of some wayward desert pelicans.”

Bonny Mild Horseman’s final album, Rolling Golden Holy, got here out in 2022 by way of 37d03d.

Kaufman can be a member of Muzz (learn our interview with them).
