Oboist and College of Toronto graduate Luca Ortolani has gained the 2024 NAC Orchestra Bursary. He takes house the grand prize bursary of $8,000.

From 16 candidates who handed the auditions, 8 finalists have been chosen for the final stage of the competitors. The judges awarded prizes totalling greater than $24,000 within the forty third model of the annual Nationwide Arts Centre Orchestra Bursary Competitors.

The jury for this 12 months was: Bursary Committee Chair Christina Cameron (non-voting); 4 NAC Orchestra musicians (Leah Roseman, higher strings; Marc-André Riberdy, decrease strings; Stephanie Morin, winds; Steven van Gulik, brass and percussion); and two exterior judges (Jo Ann Simpson, bassoonist, and Doug Burden, retired NACO trombonist).
