The Eastman College of Music has introduced the appointment of Joseph Johnson to the place of Affiliate Professor of Cello. Johnson, who has been Principal Cellist of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra since 2009, can be an alumnus of Eastman.
In a press release, Joseph stated he’s, “thrilled to be becoming a member of the school of the Eastman College of Music. It is a full-circle second for me. As an alum of Eastman, this faculty holds a particular place in my coronary heart, and I’m honoured to be returning ‘dwelling’ to the place my profession began.”

After graduating from the Eastman College of Music, Joseph earned his grasp’s diploma from Northwestern College. Joseph Johnson was a member of the Minnesota Orchestra cello part for 11 years. Prior coming to Toronto, Joseph was Principal cellist of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
