Once we wrote this tune, I used to be excited about a quote {that a} good friend instructed me rising up: ‘We have now on a regular basis wanted to do the issues we need to do.’

At least as soon as every week, I discover myself wishing there have been extra hours in a day.

There’s by no means sufficient time, I inform myself – or, as a rule, I exclaim, to nobody particularly. Typically I’ll lament these sentiments to my mates, and collectively we’ll all commiserate over how brief our days and weeks really feel – how life is transferring too quick, all the things is all a blur, and there’s by no means sufficient time!

We’re mistaken, in fact; life is lengthy, and if we might solely see the forest for the bushes, we’d understand that we’ve obtained on a regular basis on the planet to do no matter it’s we need to get accomplished. There’s no huge rush; there’s no looming deadline. Take every day in stride, and all the things can be alright. Seattle trio Warren Dunes remind us that there’s loads of time left in “Freestyle Day Spa,” a soothing, psych-soaked, seaside rock reverie with a joie de vivre perspective and a smoldering sound.

What they lack in simply definable categorization, they make up for in heaps of sonic sunshine; their music is usually heat and brilliant, even when the lyrical matters themselves are darker and extra brooding. “Freestyle Day Spa” is the right instance of this; Massey sings of all of the constructions, guidelines, and rules others placed on us all through our lives in a way that’s welcoming, even uplifting, regardless of there being a lot extra emotion than meets the attention:

Hearts’ll be taught to like
Hearts’ll be taught to harm
Hearts’ll be taught to eat a peck a mud
Mother and father wanna assist
Mother and father wanna hope
Mother and father wanna maintain the ship afloat

“As we journey by means of the phases of life, generally we are able to really feel rushed. The “Freestyle Day Spa” music video brings out the band members (and our personal) internal kids; shot at The Sundown Tavern in Seattle, it sees them and 4 teenage actors transitioning from stoic beings to playful spirits basking in a balloon pit. The message? Chill out and have enjoyable.

“The video was primarily shot at The Sundown Tavern, our favourite native Seattle music venue,” Massey smiles. “We blew up a thousand blue balloons to remodel it right into a magical underwater realm. I play the function of a Poseidon-like ocean goddess, assisted by my bandmates, that has taken an curiosity in 4 youngsters who’re making an attempt to navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. The psychedelic underwater setting symbolizes the surrealness of this time of life, and my character is form of the orchestrater of all of the chaos. We had a blast working with the unbelievable teenage thespians from our neighborhood who star within the video. Their roles replicate the principle which means of the tune: Have enjoyable, savor the current. There’s loads of time left right here.

Nobody actually is aware of

There may be nonetheless a lot laughter
Between all these rhymes
